Hanjo 17-- the year 2035. The Tokugawa Shogunate still rules a modern Japan. In Sendai, capital of Rikuzen Province, Aoyagi Fumi and Date Shizu are a wife-and-wife team of historical folklorists who have studied the boundaries between this world and others. During an interview with a young graduate student, they tell the story of a chance encounter with a god of fortune, and how it prompted them to face the truth that was right in front of them all the while.
